York is a city of approximately 216,000 people in the heart of Northern England. A historic rail-hub, the city is easily reached via train from London, Edinburgh, and Manchester. In addition to its many local charms, York provides an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding North York Moors, Yorkshire Dales, and Peaks District national parks. Weather in September is typically mild, with temperatures ranging between 10 and 18c (50f-65f). With any luck, we'll be blessed with sunshine, but this being the North of England, plan for rain!
